Palos Verdes Properties (Spanish for “Green Sticks”) is a town located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in La County, California, U.s. History of Palos Verdes Estates California
Palos Verdes Estates was founded in 1923, with 3,200 hectares (1,300 hectares) taken out from the previous Rancho Palos Verdes estate, which spanned over 16,000 acres (6,500 ha). Frank Vanderlip founded a property syndicate that owns the Palos Verdes island, as well as a property development corporation that owns the Palos Verdes Estates development. The Palos Verdes Peninsula Public Schools serves the community. The adjacent Palos Verdes Peninsular Junior High (the “Panthers”; enrollment 2,400) was listed # 8 among university and high education in the United States in prior research by The Washington Times.  It is ranked # 89 statistically among 18,500 high schools in the United States by US U.s. news And World report, and # 146 by Fortune. The two regional secondary schools were named 44th and 121st top high institutions in the US by thedailybeast.com in 2014.

Palos Verdes Estates welcomed the Global Bilingual School, a Japan preparatory school for levels K-9, in 1992. By 2002, the PVUSD had initiated a lawsuit to evict the International Bilingual School from the land it occupied. The school was owned by the PVUSD.
